FLUX I is the first chapter in Erwan Frotin's series—a unique travel diary, a new kind of atlas. The archive of places, phenomena, and organisms he collected over ten years constitute a veritable and evolving encyclopaedia. These fragments of nature emphasize the forms of living beings as an ecosystem of signs, wonders, and questions all seemingly moved by the same breath. Shot in Hawaii, Costa Rica, and as far as the Philippines and Antarctica, Erwan's photographs activate the universal imagination. The Franco-Swiss photographer develops a sculptural approach to bodies in permanent metamorphosis, blurring the line between documentary and fiction.
